Brian litigates and investigates white-collar cases and complex civil disputes.
He has represented clients in investigations and cases involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the New York County District Attorney’s Office. He has also represented clients in M&A litigation, FINRA arbitration, bankruptcy litigation, and complex commercial disputes. At Smith Villazor, Brian drafted a successful motion to exclude the SEC’s expert witness in SEC v. Prior to joining Smith Villazor LLP, Brian was an associate at a large international law firm for more than three years.
From 2016 to 2017, Brian served as an officer with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where he focused on regulatory and ethics matters.
From 2011 to 2012, Brian clerked for Judge Richard J. Holwell, and, after Judge Holwell retired from judicial service, for Judge William H. Pauley III, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
